Cultural Awareness Training RPGs

Background

I contributed to the making of seven virtual role-playing games during my two years at Alelo Inc. These role-playing games are used by the U.S. military to teach cultural awareness to services members traveling abroad. Our clients included the Department of Defense and Booz Allen.

Game design contribution

• Designed gameplay logic for branching dialogue sequences

• Wrote dialogue for PCs and NPCs

• Designed and maintained style guides and documentation for use across all projects

• Crafted the setting and story for role-play scenarios

• Scripted and designed engaging mini-games

• Debugged branching story lines, text, and logic

• Identified potential risks and supported in the execution of mitigation plans

Instructional design contribution

• Conducted cultural research and synthesized information into training modules

• Conducted interviews with subject matter experts

• Developed and wrote training content

• Wrote and developed final assessments
